Hi,
I will be flying to Bora Bora via Auckland from Bangkok. Do I need to go through immigration in Auckland and would I need a New Zealand visa ?
thank you so much

Bora Bora Island Guide's response:
You will need to check your visa entry requirements with the appropriate consulate or embassy. You may need a transit visa for travelling via Auckland.
Nationals of many countries (eg, USA, Australia, Canada, EU) do not require a visa to visit Tahiti, others must request a short stay visa from the French Consulate.
VisaHQ is useful as a quick guide to whether visas are required: ,
but also double check with the French Consulate and the New Zealand Embassy as visa regulations can often change.
As entry requirements may change from time to time it is strongly advised that you check with the department of foreign affairs or your local consulate or embassy for the current requirements.

(South America)
Hello,
Great site, thank you very much. Just have a question about traveling from South America. On the site it says twice a week flights, one direct from Santiago to Papetee and second day through Easter Island. However on the net I am finding only twice a week through Easter Island. What day of the week goes straight without stop to Tahiti? Thank you very much
Bora Bora Island Guide's Response:
Hi Rami,
Yes LAN are now flying all Tahiti flights through Easter island. The flights leave on Monday from Santiago and return from Tahiti on Tuesdays.
There are two flights that leave Santiago on Monday, and one has a much quicker connection time (only 1 hour) for continuing on to Tahiti. The travel time for this flight is just under 13 hours, including the 1 hour layover.
The return flight from Tahiti is a little quicker, just under 12 hours, and also has a short layover in Easter Island.
Thanks for contacting us, and I will update the information on the site for other visitors from South America. Happy Tahiti planning!

What is the weight for check in baggage? Also, how mamy carry on's are allowed? If your baggage is over limit, what kind of fee would be involved?
Bora Bora Island Guide's response:
Hi,
You can find out everything about inter-island flights on our flights to Bora Bora page.
If your Air Tahiti tickets for flights to Bora Bora are purchased at least 7 days before you arrive in French Polynesia your baggage allowance will be 20 kilograms. But if you buy your tickets after arrival the baggage allowance for inter-island flights is 10 kilograms.
When you purchase one of the special air passes that include flights to several islands, you can opt to pay a surcharge that allows you to take 50 kilograms.
Scuba Divers who produce a scuba certification card are allowed an extra 5 kilogram for their diving equipment.
The hand luggage limit is 3 kilograms
To receive a discount on excess baggage, make sure you pay the excess fees for all your flights at first check-in.
You will be best to contact Air Tahiti directly to find out their excess baggage fees.
