Hello!
My fiance and I are coming to Bora Bora in June 2020 for our honeymoon. We're from California, and paddle outrigger canoes with our local club (Pale Kai), as well as OC-1 and OC-2 on our own. Is there anywhere we can rent an OC-1 or OC-2 in Bora Bora? We're considering staying at the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort and Spa, for reference. Thank you so much! :) -Amy
Bora Bora Island Guide's response
Hi Amy,
We understand how exciting an opportunity it would be for you to paddle in the Bora Bora lagoon! While there are many canoes around and it is certainly a main sport in the island, it is hard to find them for rent to tourists. We know that the Intercontinental has their own outrigger canoe that we have seen parked on the beach at the Le Moana side of the Intercontinental resort. This is at Matira point. We suggest you email the Intercontinental Bora Bora to ask your question as they may be able to assist you.
If there are any available for rent you would find them at Matira Beach.
See if the Intercontinental can help connect you with a way to rent during your stay -either with their own or with a local activity provider.
Good luck!
Kind regards,
Melinda and the Bora Bora Island Guide team
