I recently got married to my now wife and we are looking at going to Bora Bora for our honeymoon in April, I thought it was best to see if the island is inclusive of same sex couples or if we should be "sisters" for the time we are there.
Bora Bora Island Guide's response
Hi Jane,
Congratulations on your marriage! The Polynesians are an open and welcoming community and we certainly don't feel you need to hide your relationship while you are on honeymoon in Bora Bora. French Polynesia opperates under French law, which has allowed same sex couples to marry since 2013. We know that the Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora has been offering same sex couples the opportunity to express their commitment to each other, with a ceremonial marriage.
